Elder Hilton June 7, 2016-2018 : Week 80: “Peace on Earth will come to stay, When we live Christmas every day.”

This week was great! On Monday we ate breakfast at the Briggs apartment. We had eggs, bacon and pancakes. Later that evening I got to skype my family and talk to them for a bit. It was a great time.
Monday and Tuesday we didn´t get to work much in our area, because of office duties. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday we "caught back up" and were blessed to teach a lot of people. We met some good people that I believe can be good investigators. Nothing very exciting happened this week. Something interesting that happened this week? When we were in the favella on Friday the power kept going out. It gets really dark without light and it´s a bit scary haha. We wer looking for a certain person. We couldn´t kind her address because the favella isn´t the most organized neighborhood. We were wandering down an alleyway and the power had gone out. There was a woman sit on her doorstep. We were going to simply pass, but my companion stopped and talked to her. Guess who it was? It was Clarissa, the lady we were looking for. We had a good conversation about prophets, faith, and the importance of prayer. Another interesting thing that happened was when we were walking to lunch on Saturday and I found 5 Reias! It was in a Macumba offering on the side of the road, but to me it didn´t matter. I hope I didn´t pick up an evil curse or something.
We aren´t doing anything for p-day because we didn´t plan anything. We had an awesome lunch at Romilda´s house. She prepared a big feast!
I am excited for this new year. It is an opportunity to start fresh. We can review the past year and see how we can improve, then make appropriate goals. I really love the quote of the title. “Peace on earth will come to stay, When we live Christmas every day.” I believe in this. When we have the christmas spirit everyday, imagine how much happier we would be. It seems like during the Christmas season, everyone is happier, more receptive, and giving. Its a season of giving and service. Forgetting about ourselves. I know that we can remember Christ at every moment in our lives and in doing so, we will become happier people. I know that Jesus Christ loves us. I feel His love radiate through the prophets, apostles and all his dear children. We all have some degree of Christ´s light within us. We just need to open up and let it SHINE! Show your good works, and feel your testimony GROW! I am grateful for the pure gospel on the Earth and I testify that it is true.
